HEPA Filters

HEPA filters, otherwise known as high-efficiency particulate absorbers are one of the most widely used filters for the air and air pollution. HEPA filters are very effective forms of filters and works by pulling in air particles into dense filters which are able to attract all the dirt and dust from the air particles. HEPA filters have a serial number assigned to them and have been proven to trap at least 99.97 percent of particles of 0.3 microns. This means that HEPA filters are able to trap almost all harmful substances in the air.

The air particles traveling in the atmosphere, when going through the filter, either can collide with the fibers of the filters and become trapped, or get trapped while attempting to travel through fibers. Smaller particles that will move through the fibers, may move on further, but will soon get caught through the way of the fibers eventually as the filter is densely packed with these fibers. The air particles staying in the filters means that the filters either will have to be cleaned or swopped out.

This was the main problem we faced when developing our air purifier. We, however designed the HEPA filters so that the filter would be easily removable to be switched out with a new one or either to get cleaned every once a while.

We recommend to clean the filters every 4 weeks and replacing the filter 2~3 times a year.
